Department of Economic Development

Volunteering isn't just for the holidays!

Norcross Businesses:
Please lend a hand just a few hours a week. Make a huge difference and see the result of your affiliation with a new, recovering or thriving business. Change yours and another's life! One successful business will affect others, in a "domino effect", maybe even touching your own.

Work from Norcross. We are centrally located inside the Norcross Community Center, downstairs, directly across the street from City Hall. You will have access to ample parking and a large office. City staff is always available during normal business hours.

Our NETWORK NORCROSS/ SCORE office is one of the largest SCORE offices in Georgia, outside Atlanta. The appointment calendar remains full, which is why we are looking for you, a Norcross business leader to become a business advisor! Please consider sharing your talent and experience with a startup, floundering, confused or stagnated business owner. Allow them to possibly become a future SCORE volunteer.

SCORE mentors deliver confidential advice to appreciative owners. Don't worry about not knowing everything about a particular business component. SCORE mentors work with each other to give business owners (and you) full support.

A recent update from Peter Hildebrandt, Director of the Norcross office:

"Since we opened the Norcross office, we’ve counseled 160 small business owners with four top-notch SCORE mentors:

• Charlie Riehm – Norcross city councilman and former Hayes Modem executive
• Steve Kindrick – Norcross manufacturing business owner employing 40 people
• Juliet Denise – Franchise expert and former Senior VP of Barclays Capital
• Peter Luckhurst – Former Teavana Executive Vice President who helped sell the business to Starbucks

Each of these clients is starting or operating a small business in the Norcross Area, which creates new jobs, raises the tax base, and makes Norcross a better place to live. All of this at no cost to the small business owners. There’s not a much better way to improve the business of the area."

The Network Norcross SCORE office currently has six available slots:
- Monday morning
- Tuesday afternoon
- Wednesday morning
- Wednesday afternoon
- Thursday morning
- Friday afternoon
