The City of Norcross in conjunction with the Norcross Department of Economic Development hosted its 8th Business Breakfast, April 26, 2016.

Norcross, GA- April 26, 2016- City of Norcross business leaders packed the Norcross Community Center Ballroom for a “thank you” breakfast, hosted by city leaders. “You already invest in us, now let us invest in you!”, was part of the Breakfast platform.

According to Rusty Warner, Norcross Economic Development Director, “This is one time a year when businesses of all facets meet potential customers, potential places they can buy services for their company, and everlasting business partners. This event is also the only time we restrict participation. You must be a Norcross City business."

"I am always pleased to introduce one business to another!" said Warner. "I get so much good feedback and actually believe the momentum started during this Breakfast, energizes business within our city, throughout the entire year.”

This year's agenda included awards where two winners were announced:
1. Valued Partner- SUNIVA- for creation of new jobs (one of our highest employers) and for always being Pro-Norcross.
2. Business Leadership- SPP PUMPS- for their strong sense of responsibility to the community, in particular, their high statistics when hiring veterans.

City council members, the mayor, and department heads were highlighted and in attendance, with brief descriptions of how Norcross businesses can interact with each.

Also in attendance were much welcomed, County Chairman Charlotte Nash, Commissioner Lynette Howard, and ARC representative Colby Lancelin, who mingled with the attendees.

As in prior years, two Norcross business tax programs were re-introduced, the Opportunity Zone and Less Developed Census Tract. Both programs give business tax incentives based on an amount of new hires, and were heavily examined by attendees on four-foot charts.

Special “Invitees” included Gas South, Norcross Development Authority, SCORE, ACE-Access to Capital, and the Small Business Development Center. Invitees were recruited based on a special contributory skill or item, beneficial to the continued success of a Norcross business.

The Business Breakfast drew a full building of Norcross businesses, with an equally full agenda, and an air of excitement. Breakfast participants say they adjust their calendars around this event.

Immediate feedback includes:

" I couldn't believe state and local officials were so approachable!"

"... I was impressed the veterans were honored."

"Great food..."

" It was awesome as a representative of a smaller company, to have a conversation with a larger one, like Suniva. I had a great time!"

Norcross branded shirt winner for-first to sign up for the Breakfast????
Chuck Paul, A Closer Look, Inc.---Yes, AGAIN...............! However, Chuck passed his winning to the "next fastest signup", Mike Wade, of B.A.T. Engineering/Spectra Tech.

Continued success- Norcross Businesses! Our next event is scheduled: April 25, 2017. Pre-planning already includes a shorter agenda and better directional parking.
