Making Norcross a place where pollinators thrive is something we can all do. Whether you have a tiny spot for a pot on a balcony or back deck, a corner of your lawn or a whole yard to dedicate, this gardening series will help you successfully support pollinators. Workshop #1: Planning Your Garden with Pollinators in Mind
Date: Saturday, March 11
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Location: City Hall 2nd Floor Community Room
Whether you have a tiny spot for a pot on a balcony or back deck, a corner of your lawn or a whole yard to dedicate, this gardening series will help you successfully support pollinators! During this hands-on workshop, you will work with master gardeners and learn how you can start a garden in your own space. Workshop #2: Planting Day
Date: Saturday, April 15
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Location: City Hall Pollinator Garden
This month, we will meet in front of City Hall to start working on the Pollinator Garden! We’ll be working with master gardeners to define the garden beds and start planting. This is a great opportunity to get hands on experience starting a garden and to 'bee' a part of this exciting and award-winning community project! This workshop is open to gardeners of all ages and skill levels. Water, snacks, and gardening tools will be provided. Please bring your own work gloves. Workshop #3: Container Gardening for Pollinators
Date: Saturday, May 13th
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Location: City Hall 2nd Floor Community Room
Did you know, you don't have to have an in-ground garden or huge yard to support pollinators? Join us for a guest speaker and interactive presentation to learn about pollinator friendly plants that can grow well in containers. Bring your favorite pot or container to the workshop to get started. This workshop is open to gardeners of all ages and skill levels, ages under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. If you don't have a pot, you can still join in on the fun but let us know if you will be bringing a pot or container to the workshop.
