Public Safety Building
Overview
The city plans to construct a new Public Safety Building to house the Police Department, Municipal Court and public meeting space. This new facility will be located on land that was formerly the location of the old Norcross Library at the corner of Buford Highway and Stevens Road, and on adjacent property the city has acquired. CROFT & Associates has been selected as the architect/engineer to design the building; Turner & Townsend Heery/AEI has been selected as the project manager, and will oversee the design and construction processes on the city's behalf.
Status
Ongoing; 24 to 36-month scope
We’d like to thank Paul Duke HS and Norcross HS leadership for their efforts in sharing the Public Safety Building project survey with their senior students so that those interested could share their thoughts on the design inspiration concepts. In answer to questions posed at the November 29 Town Hall:
- Paul Duke HS shared the survey with specific engineering students and it was not part of a class assignment.
- Norcross HS shared the survey with their seniors via email and asked those who lived in the city to participate. It was not part of a class assignment.
On Wednesday, November 29, a Town Hall was held to provide the community the opportunity to:
- Receive an update on the project scope and timeline.
- Gather new input from attendees as to preferences of the exterior design for the new facility as well as public meeting space.
Four architectural styles were presented and discussed, based on the feedback received from the October 23rd Town Hall discussion and survey results. A video recording of the Town Hall is available if you would like to watch/listen to the discussion: https://youtube.com/live/wt2FL6RxpUE?feature=share. You can also review the slide deck from the meeting: norcrossga.net/DocumentCenter/View/7449.
Now that the Town Hall has concluded, we invite the community to participate in voting via our online form: https://forms.gle/suwT4X7ghTaSAQcY9
Voting will remain open until Wednesday, December 6th at 8:00 p.m.

The City of Norcross will host a Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, November 29 at 6:00 p.m. at the Norcross Cultural Arts & Community Center located at 10 College Street. This will be the third of a series of such meetings.
This session will present a new set of style concepts for discussion and voting, based on the feedback received from the October 23rd Town Hall discussion and survey results. The proposed facility, situated on the former grounds of the old Norcross Library at the intersection of Buford Highway and Stevens Road, combined with adjacent acquired property, will be a focal point of discussion.
We earnestly encourage the Norcross community to participate, as your insights are integral to shaping our shared future. If you are unable to attend and would like to submit your input, there will be an opportunity via an online survey (link to be posted after the Town Hall).
You can also livestream the meeting and/or watch the meeting at a later time on Youtube:

The results from the voting which took place both in person and online following the October 23, 2023 Town Hall are now live. The poll was an opportunity for the community to indicate their preferences for the five architectural styles presented and discussed during the meeting. If you have not already, you may like to review what has been presented and discussed to date before you review the results:
- A video recording of the October 23, 2023 Town Hall is available if you would like to watch/listen to the discussion: https://youtube.com/live/03ag-O3U7kQ?feature=share
- The five style boards that were voted on can be viewed in this document.
These results are now being used by the project's architectural firm to inspire and inform the concepts being created for presentation at the next Town Hall for community review, discussion and voting. These concepts will be a step further in narrowing down the overall style preferences of the community for the building, and are not intended to be final design options. Input from this next meeting and online poll will then be used to inform a future set of designs.
The previously shared online voting form has now closed. This form was created to give those not in attendance at the October 23, 2023 Town Hall the opportunity to indicate their preferences for the five architectural styles presented and discussed during the meeting. Results of the voting that took place during the meeting and online are currently being reviewed and will be posted here as soon as available. In the meantime, if you would like to still review what has been presented and discussed to date:
- A video recording of the Town Hall is available if you would like to watch/listen to the discussion: https://youtube.com/live/03ag-O3U7kQ?feature=share
- The five style boards that were voted on can be viewed in this document.
