For two weeks, the city is accepting applications for Parks, Green Spaces, and Trails Commission, Norcross Public Arts Commission and Planning and Zoning Board.
The primary purpose of the Parks, Green Spaces, and Trails Commission is to advise and provide recommendations to the city council regarding the best use, planning and development, maintenance and related projects for these spaces with the main objective of beautifying and preserving the city's natural resources through conservation measures.Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m. located at City Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room.
The Norcross Public Arts Commission (NPAC) was created by the City Council and is charged with advising Mayor and City Council on policies and issues pertaining to the arts and culture in Norcross. The NPAC also serves as an umbrella organization supporting art and cultural organizations within the City; and shall perform such other activities as the Commission determines necessary to cultivate a growing, creative arts community in Norcross. Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., 2nd floor conference room at City Hall.
The Planning and Zoning Board makes recommendations to the City Council on rezoning applications, special use permits, and changes to the City’s Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Ordinance. The recommendations of the board are not binding, but rather they are meant to allow a full discussion and analysis of a request or project prior to the final decision of the Mayor and Council. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm.
