The City of Norcross, Georgia, hereby notifies the public of a scheduled public hearing for the FY23-24 Proposed Budget on July 10, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. The hearing will take place at the City Hall Council Chamber located at 65 Lawrenceville Street, Norcross, Georgia 30071. Citizens are invited to provide written and oral comments on the annual operating and capital budget. Individuals requiring a qualified interpreter for the hearing impaired may request one at least seven days in advance by calling (770) 448-2122.

Furthermore, the Mayor and City Council of Norcross have tentatively adopted a millage rate that will result in a 9.46 percent increase in property taxes. A public hearing regarding this tax increase will be held at Norcross City Hall on July 10, 2023, at 6:30 PM. Additional public hearings on the tax increase are scheduled for July 17, 2023, at 6:30 PM, and August 7, 2023, at 6:30 PM, also at Norcross City Hall. The proposed tax increase will raise the millage rate to 6.249 mills, an increase of 0.540 mills. Without the increase, the millage rate will not exceed 5.709 mills.

For homeowners with a fair market value of $425,000, the proposed tax increase amounts to approximately $92. Non-homestead property owners with a fair market value of $800,000 can expect a proposed tax increase of approximately $173.

Lastly, the City of Norcross announces that the millage rate will be finalized at a meeting held at City Hall on August 7, 2023, at 6:30 PM. In compliance with O.C.G.A. Section 48-5-32, the Mayor and Council hereby publish the current year's tax digest and levy, along with the tax digest and levy history for the past five years.
