The Norcross Police Department (NPD), with sponsorship support from Target, Inc. is hosting a local National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 5pm - 9pm in Lillian Webb Park.
Norcross neighborhoods are encouraged to participate in the evening's free family-oriented activities which feature food, crime prevention and safety tips, obstacle and soccer skills courses, demos by the NPD's K9 unit, and inflatables. La Raza and La Mega radio stations will provide music, and Safe Kids Gwinnett will be on hand with a fire truck and safety tips.
NNO is a nationwide, annual crime prevention and community-policing event. NNO events are designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and community law enforcement collaboration by promoting crime prevention. Public safety officers will be available to offer tips and facts about crime prevention. After the August 6th event, neighbors are encouraged to work with local law enforcement to develop year-round strategies to build community and neighborhood solidarity against crime.
More than 35 million people across the nation are anticipated to take part in NNO events. This year's sponsorship is part of the ongoing support that Target, Inc. provides to local law enforcement agencies and community groups throughout the country.
