[ARCHIVED] Norcross Tucker Road Water Main Project

2019_NorcrossWebsite_NewsflashIcons

The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources (DWR) will soon have a contractor to begin working on installing new water mains along N. Norcross Tucker Road. This project involves approximately 4,900 linear feet of 12- inch Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP). The new water main will be installed near the edge of curb and in some area near the roadway. There will be minimal damage to your yard. This project is intended to replace the aging cast iron water main that was installed about 60 years ago with new more durable ductile iron pipe. The new water main will provide a reliable water supply and much needed fire protection.

Construction is expected to begin during week of January 7th, 2019, though residents may notice some activities prior to construction (e.g. pipe delivery and utility location marking). Work, including final restoration, is projected to take up 330 days with most pipe installation activity occurring within 210 days window of time. Work will typically take place Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, between the times of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
