[ARCHIVED] Special Announcement: COVID-19 Update

In preparation for the possible spread of COVID-19 in Norcross and the surrounding area, the city is implementing various efforts to help ensure the safety of our staff and citizens. These efforts include a mix of staggered schedules, telecommuting, heightened sanitation care of the premises as well as other policies to reduce the chance of transmission. While the city will remain operational, we encourage social distancing in every possible way, and urge citizens to take every precaution over the next few weeks. To that end, we have decided to cancel all city-sponsored events through the end of April (including tomorrow’s Coffee with Council), and the courts will be closed for the next two weeks. However, citizens can rest assured that all emergency services will continue operating at a high level.

While it is hoped the need for these precautions will not be long-term, citizens should take comfort that their government is being proactive and is taking steps to ensure the safety and well-being of its community, including as minimal an impact on services as possible during this time. Citizens can use the city’s website to stay up to date on the latest COVID-19 news the city has to share. Our latest post includes links to resources from the CDC and Georgia Department of Public Health, as well as a quick-link to the CDC’s Live Update portal.

Stay safe out there!
