The 2020 U.S. Census Deadline is April 1st! Invitations have been mailed out with instructions for completing the short questionnaire, but you don’t have to wait! New this year is the convenient online portal–simply visit 2020census.gov anytime and click “Take the Census.” If you happen to miss the April 1st deadline, a paper copy of the questionnaire will be mailed to you withing the second week of April. So you see, lots of opportunities to be counted!! The census is completely confidential and the bureau will never ask you for personal identifying information.

In regards to the recent situation with COVID-19, the bureau released a statement on Wednesday:

The U.S. Census Bureau is following guidance of Federal, State, and local health authorities and is monitoring the health situation closely. We recommend that households complete the 2020 Census questionnaire online or over the phone as soon as possible. This will reduce the likelihood that a Census Bureau worker will need to visit a respondent’s home. We are also modifying a few of our operations to ensure that everyone is counted but also making sure that our staff as well as the American public is kept safe.
