Architectural Review Board

Overview

The Architectural Review Board (ARB) is the city-appointed body tasked with administering the City’s review process by applying the standards of the Architectural and Site Design Standards Manual.  

Duties and Responsibilities 

The Architectural Review Board shall have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Reviews architectural and landscaping design for all new commercial and multi-family residential projects, major commercial remodels and administrative design review applications while ensuring the preservation of existing areas of natural beauty, cultural importance and assuring that buildings, structures, signs or other developments are in good taste, good design, and harmonious with surrounding developments
  • ARB is responsible to review all areas inside the National Historic District and all other areas outside of the Local Historic District
  • The authority of the ARB shall encompass all areas within the city limits except where the property in question fall under the authority of the Historic Preservation Commission

Meetings

ARB meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall 2nd floor conference room.

Members

ARB is a five-member board serving three-year terms. A minimum of three members shall be citizens of the city. The ARB membership shall include at least one architect or engineer, and one citizen at large.
